Pizza Hut and Other Fast Food Chains Offer Limited Time Cheap Eat Deals

Burger King offers free soft serve ice cream while Subway has footlongs

The slumping economy has affected all areas of commerce including the billion-dollar fast food industry. According to NPD Group, the annual fast food restaurant visits by the 18-24 group has gone from 245 to 192 making it one less visit every week per person. Today fast food giants responded to the dwindling sales with a new plan to revitalize their businesses: cheap eats.

Many fast food places like Burger King and McDonald’s already have value or dollar menus, but Yum! Brands like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, Domino’s and Subway announced cheaper prices on their signature foods. Pizza Hut brought back its $10 for any pizza deal, which entails any size and any toppings for delivery, carry-out or dine-in.

Another pizza place, Domino’s, is getting in on the cheap pizza deals. They’re offering their Artisan Pizza for an even lower price of $7.99 that’s available for delivery. The rectangular specialty pizza comes in varieties like Spinach and Feta made with alfredo sauce, Italian Sausage and Pepper Trio and Tuscan Salami and Roasted Veggie with a garlic parmesan sauce. On Monday-Wednesday for carry-out only, get a large pizza with three toppings for only $7.99, too.

Subway’s has had their $5 footlong deal for a while, but it’s only offered on select subs. But starting on October 1st and running through October 31st in a promotion called AnyTober, all footlong subs are $5 except for their premium subs.

In a downtrodden economy, it’s nice to know two people can eat dinner for under $10, which is what Burger King is attempting with their $6.99 meal that contains two Whoppers, two small fries and two small drinks.

Dairy Queen also offers a value meal package with a Mini Blizzard, Grillburger, fries and a medium drink for only $5. That’s actually one of the best deals considering you get dessert with it.

Rounding out the deals, Taco Bell now offers their Chicken Flatbread sandwich for 99-cent, and between now and October 9th, Burger King will give you a free soft serve ice cream in a cup or cone whenever you order one of their more expensive value meals.  The soft serve is a new addition to their menu and can be included in a sundae and shake.
